Felice Willat

Felice Willat is an award-winning American travel photographer, publisher, and co-founder whose work explores the quiet, enduring beauty of the human landscape across cultures. Through her long-running practice at Felice Willat Photography (2008–present), she has documented life in Burma, Morocco, China, Vietnam, Argentina, and the United States, capturing moments that reveal both the sacred and the everyday. Her images have earned international recognition, including selection to the YourDailyPhotograph.com Hot 100 of 2021 and the Outstanding Achievement 1st Place Award at the International Color Awards for her work Climbing Cardinals. She is also the author of The Quiet Between, Song of Burma (2009), a meditative blend of photography and poetry.

Before turning fully to photography, Willat spent two decades as an entrepreneur and innovator. She is the co-founder of Day Runner, Inc., a pioneering personal organization system that helped define productivity culture in the late twentieth century. Built from a kitchen-table idea into a public company, Day Runner became an essential tool for millions navigating increasingly complex professional and personal lives.

Extending her interest in inner and outer balance, Willat later co-created Tools With Heart (1995–2010) with author and artist Ilene Segalove. This collaborative initiative produced interactive journals and reflective tools designed to foster self-awareness, creativity, and emotional clarity. Their work engaged leading voices in personal development, including Oprah Winfrey, Caroline Myss, Charles Schwab, Dr. Randine Lewis, and Betty Ford.

Willat’s artistic practice is deeply informed by this multifaceted life journey. She approaches photography as a contemplative act—an opportunity to slow time, witness fleeting gestures, and uncover meaning in overlooked details. Her work reflects a sustained commitment to presence, cultural curiosity, and the poetic resonance of lived experience.
