Sukrity Sharma is a journalist, editor, writer, and cultural organizer whose work bridges literature, media, and public engagement. As Executive Director of the Himalayan Literature Festival & Writers’ Workshop (HLF-WWK) 2027, she plays a leading role in shaping the festival’s vision, programming, international partnerships, and community outreach initiatives.
Born in Nepal and of Indian heritage, Sukrity holds a Master’s degree in Journalism and Public Relations from Griffith College, Dublin. She has worked with media organizations including Deshsanchar and Pratik magazine, bringing extensive experience in journalism, communications, and digital media to the literary world. Her research on the impact of fake news and digital misinformation reflects her commitment to media literacy, ethical communication, and critical public discourse.
A dedicated member of the HLF-WWK team for several years, Sukrity previously served as Social Media Associate and successfully coordinated the HLF Poetry Film Festival, helping strengthen the festival’s international presence and engagement with writers, artists, filmmakers, and readers from around the world.
In addition to her work in journalism and literary programming, she has experience in radio broadcasting, including hosting Rock Nights on Babylon Radio in Dublin. She has also participated in humanitarian and community initiatives, including relief efforts following the 2015 Nepal earthquake.
Passionate about storytelling and cultural exchange, Sukrity’s creative and professional work explores themes of identity, memory, truth, and social transformation. Through her leadership at HLF-WWK, she is committed to creating inclusive spaces for dialogue, creativity, and cross-cultural understanding while helping establish the festival as a vibrant international platform for literature, ideas, and the arts.
