Hope Edelman is the author of eight nonfiction books, including the international bestsellers Motherless Daughters and Motherless Mothers. Her books have been published in 17 countries and 11 languages, selling more than one million copies. Motherless Daughters, which reached #1 on The New York Times bestseller list, has become a landmark book for women who have lost their mothers.
A celebrated memoirist, speaker, and writing teacher, Hope has appeared on CBS Sunday Morning, Today, Good Morning America, CNN, and other major television programs. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Psychology Today, The Missouri Review, and The Iowa Review, among others.
Hope taught in the MFA program at Antioch University Los Angeles for 15 years and has led writing workshops at universities and literary conferences across the United States and Mexico. She is the recipient of a New York Times Notable Book designation and a Pushcart Prize in Nonfiction.
She is currently working on the fourth edition of Motherless Daughters and her first novel. Hope divides her time between Los Angeles and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
