Nepalese poet Avaya Shrestha’s poetry collections include Phul Binako Sakha, Kayakalpa, and Lahana Ra Tir and a story collection Tesro Kinara. His various recognitions and awards include the Balkumari Risal Journalism Award, the Garima Best Prose Award (2012), the Best Creation Award in Prahari Bi-monthly (2008), the Nepal Academy Best Short Story Award (2004), and the Dristi Weekly Columnist Honour (2008). With experience as a journalist and feature editor for different national dailies in Nepal, his column “Satyakura” enjoyed popularity among Nepali readers. He is executive editor of Kavita, a poetry quarterly published by Nepal Academy.
