Akhanda Bhandari is a well-known author and journalist in Nepal. His second novel, Bora, was just released and tells the heartbreaking story of a man who throws his old-aged mother in the riverside after stuffing her into a sack. He had already written the well-known novel Malaya Express, wherein it has been discussed how the conflict has led to a rise in foreign employment as well as social and family deviance. Moreover, he has released a book titled Samacharko Bhasha that critiques the language employed in journalism. Akhanda currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of Annapurna Post, one of Nepal’s most popular national dailies. He is widely recognized in Nepal for his insightful write-ups on social issues through his widely-read column, Voice of the voiceless. His articles cover a wide range of topics including good governance, social and political reforms, human rights, and democracy, and have had a significant impact on Nepali society. Prior to joining Annapurna Post, Akhanda served as the Creative Editor for Kantipur national daily and coordinated the gulf edition of Kantipur weekly based in Qatar. He has been recognized for his excellent contribution to national service and public interest through writing and was awarded by Prabal Janasewa Shree by the President for his outstanding achievements.
