Himalayan Literature Festival & Writers Workshop (HLF–WWK) 2026
After the success of Nepal’s first Himalayan Literature Festival in 2024, the event is back again! The second edition will be held in Kathmandu from May 29 to June 5, 2026.
This year, the festival is dedicated to Guru Prasad Mainali, one of Nepal’s greatest short story writers.
The Writers Workshop will run from May 29 to June 5, with literary workshops on short stories, poetry, memoirs, non-fiction, and even photography. Around 40 international writers and teachers from around the world will join and share their knowledge.
The workshop will end with the Himalayan Literature Festival on June 4 and 5, where over 50 Nepali writers will come together with international guests for public readings, discussions, and cultural exchange.
Hosted by White Lotus Book Shop in Kathmandu, this festival is a wonderful opportunity for writers, readers, and literature lovers to connect, learn, and celebrate stories from Nepal and around the world.
