Sangeeta Uranw is a Kathmandu-based artist, theatre practitioner, and sociologist from Nepal’s indigenous Uranw community. She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology and is affiliated with the Shilpee Theatre Group, where she actively engages in performance and socially driven artistic work.
Belonging to a historically marginalized community rich in cultural traditions, oral storytelling, and deep connections to nature, Sangeeta draws from her heritage to inform her creative practice. Her work seeks to illuminate the social structures, lived realities, and cultural resilience of the Uranw people through theatre and visual expression.
She recently completed her postgraduate training at the Drama School of Mumbai (2024–2025), further strengthening her commitment to using art as a space for representation, dialogue, and social change.
