Vasilis Manousakis is a short-story writer, poet, translator and mental health
counselor,
He is the author of five books.
His work has appeared in New American Writing, Hayden's Ferry Review, Barcelona
Ink, Parentheses and Drunken Boat among others. He has been one of the founding
members of Bonsai Stories, the blog directly linked to Planodion literary magazine.
He holds a Ph.D. in Contemporary American Poetry and a Master’s Degree in Mental
Health Counselling and in 20 th century Literature.
He is a faculty member of the New York Writers Workshop and the American College of
Greece, where he teaches Audiovisual Translation and Creative Writing seminars.
Moreover, he holds a permanent teaching staff position at the University of Patras,
Greece.
He holds individual and group sessions with clients in his own office, specializing in
CBT and Narrative Therapy.
He also combines Mental Health with Creative Writing and visits prisons voluntarily.
