Jami Proctor Xu （徐贞敏）is a bilingual poet, essayist, translator and mother who writes in Chinese and English. Her poems and translations have been widely published and anthologized in many countries. She has co-organized international poetry events in China, South Africa, Eswatini, Lesotho, and Ethiopia, and she frequently reads at poetry festivals around the world. Her current projects include her second full-length collection in Chinese, translations of poetry collections by Jidi Majia, Xiao Xiao, Zhao Ye,and Zhai Yongming. Along with Sel Yuchen Zhou, she is co-translating full-length collections by Anne Waldman and Brenda Hillman into Chinese. Her most recent publication wasThe Rain Train, co-translations of poems by Biplab Majee from Bengali into English (2025, Kolkata). She is also editing a series of Chinese translations of US women poets. She currently splits her time between China and the US.
